Benburb Playing Fields

This Big Lottery funded project was made possible by the National lottery Players.  The hard work and dedication of many local volunteers, especially those who sacrificed their time to get involved resulted in a successful project.

Space and Place NI

In 2013 a meeting took place between the various stakeholders operating in Benburb Playing Fields.  This resulted in a successful application to the Big lottery funded “Space and Place” programme.  A new design for a community hub was successfully developed by a community steering group.

Benburb & District Community Association

The formation of a partnership between Mid Ulster District Council and the community in Benburb was a key outcome of this project.  The aim was to help deliver a quality resource that will help to reduce the effects of social isolation.  As a result, the new design includes social hubs around the site.  The design was developed during an extensive period of consultation and workshops with groups and organisations in the village.

As a result of this feedback, we were able to determine how people wished to see this underused space developed. Amongst the many wishes, people are excited at the prospect of having a space to play, stay fit, socialise and make friends.

As part of our evaluation process we are required to gather feedback and evidence from park users.  We would be delighted to hear your thoughts and compare valuable feedback with our initial findings to help improve the facilities.  To assist us we ask that you take some time to complete the questionnaire below.  Please feel free to use the comment sections if necessary.  This is an important part of our work and we appreciate the time taken to complete it.
